小舞台のパノラマ｜Panorama of the Small Stage

茅ヶ崎市に建つ二世帯住宅です。

海岸沿いから800mほど内陸に入ったところにある敷地周辺は、砂質の沖積低地で、緩やかな起伏をもった平野となっています。海が近いこともあって、マリンスポーツを楽しむ人たちが、屋外で集まることを暮らしの一部とするような、住宅の内外をさまざまな人が出入りする気配を感じる環境でした。
　夫婦それぞれの仕事と、母の暮らし、子供たちの遊ぶ様子などが関係しあう、この家族固有の生活の出来事と場所の関係から住宅をつくることができないかと考えました。家族や訪れる人たちそれぞれの生活の小舞台が、次々と連なるようにつくられたこの住宅では、それぞれのヒトやモノの振る舞いが、敷地・まち・周りの環境へとパノラミックに展開していきます。

The site lies about 800 meters inland from the coastline, in a softly rolling coastal plain of sandy ground. Because of its proximity to the sea, the surrounding environment carries a sense of people coming and going. Those who enjoy marine sports often gather outdoors as part of their daily lives, creating a subtle flow between inside and outside the home.

We wondered whether a house could be shaped from the particular relationships between events and places that make up this family’s everyday life: the work of the couple, the mother’s routines, and the children at play.

In this home, a series of small “stages” for living, each belonging to a different member of the family or visitor, are arranged so that they connect one after another. The behaviors of people and objects unfold outward in a panoramic way, extending across the site, the neighborhood, and the surrounding environment.
