丸子の里 大規模改修計画｜Maruko no Sato – Large Scale Renovation

築30年の特別養護老人ホームの大規模改修計画です。

社会福祉法人静和会は静岡県静岡市を拠点に、複数の老人福祉施設を経営しています。その中で最も築数が古く、かつ100床規模の大きなRC造5階建ての施設の大規模改修を計画しています。今回の改修を通してベッド数を20床減らし、さらに現在行っている特養、ショートステイ、デイサービスに加えて新たに小規模多機能型居宅介護のサービスを始めます。

A comprehensive renovation of a special nursing home facility that has served its community for more than 30 years.

Shizuwakai Social Welfare Corporation, based in Shizuoka City, operates several elderly welfare facilities in the region. Among these, the project focuses on the corporation’s oldest facility, a large five-story reinforced concrete building with approximately 100 beds.

As part of the renovation, the number of beds will be reduced by 20, and in addition to the existing long-term care, short-stay, and day service programs, a new small-scale multifunctional in-home care service will be introduced.

家の経験/まちの経験

　年をとって施設に入居するということは、一人でゆっくりコーヒーを飲んだり、街でナンパしたり、事件に出くわしたり、そんな起伏のある経験全てを失ってしまうということなんじゃないか。静岡にある特養の大規模改修の設計をはじめた当初、「官能都市」の8つの指標を見てそんな疑念が浮かびました。

　そこで私たちは、設計の打ち合わせではこぼれ落ちてしまうようなつぶさな日常を探しに、法人さんのSNSの観察を始めました。

　SNSでの職員さんのつぶやきには四季があり、時間の流れがあり、人や地域との関係性がありました。職員さんの畑で採れたらっきょを漬けたり、花火の映像を映しながら寝そべって「なんちゃって花火大会」をひらいたり、ご家族と流しそうめんをしたり。施設はそこで暮らす人にとって家であり、街であるということがわかりました。

　カフェで友たちとおしゃべりを楽しむように窓辺に集う。畑のようなテラスではいつもあの人が土を触ってる。歌が好きな職員とそれを楽しむ方にとってステージのようなデイルーム。新聞を読む片隅で誰かが料理をしている音がする。自分の部屋のようにゆっくりと心落ち着ける個室。

　これまで暮らしてきた家と慣れ親しんだ街での生活が続くような、いろいろなキャラクターをもった場所をご利用者と施設職員との対話を通して考えています。

Living at Home / Living in the Town

During the design process, we began to question whether growing old and moving into a care facility might mean losing many of life’s small but meaningful moments, such as quietly drinking coffee alone, engaging with others in the city, unexpectedly encountering events, and experiencing the natural ups and downs of everyday life.

In response, we turned our attention to the Social Welfare Corporation’s social media, using it as a lens to better understand the small, everyday moments of life that are not usually discussed in formal design meetings.

In the staff members’ social media posts, we found the presence of the four seasons, the passage of time, and relationships with people and the local community. The posts depicted moments such as pickling Japanese scallions harvested from a staff member’s garden, lying down together while projecting fireworks videos to create an improvised fireworks festival, and sharing sōmen noodles with family members. These moments revealed that, for those who live there, the facility functions as both a home and a town.

In our proposal, people gather by the windows as if enjoying conversation with friends at a café. On the terrace, shaped like a small garden, someone is always tending the soil. The dayroom becomes like a stage for staff members who love to sing and for those who enjoy listening. In a quiet corner where someone reads the newspaper, the sound of cooking can be heard nearby. Private rooms offer a calm, unhurried atmosphere, allowing residents to settle in as if they were in their own homes.
