地域の素材ルート＋サーベイ｜Local Material Routes + Survey

長野県長野市松代町では、そこにしかない特別な素材があります。

その魅力を発信している、市の観光振興課とコンタクトを取ることで、それぞれの素材を取り扱う業者と繋がり、地域の素材を入手することができました。

In Matsushiro, Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, there are unique materials that can only be found in this region.

By contacting the city’s Tourism Promotion Division, which actively promotes these local resources, we were able to connect with suppliers handling each material and source them locally.

柴石｜Shiseki (Purple Stone)

松代町の柴という地域でしか採れない「柴石」は、断面に独特な模様が現れており、採石する山の深さによって白と紫の２つの色を持ちます。

Shiseki, which can only be quarried in the Shiba area of Matsushiro, reveals distinctive patterns on its cut surfaces.
Depending on the depth of the mountain from which it is extracted, the stone displays two characteristic colors: white and purple.

松代焼｜Matsushiro Ware

松代町で湧く温泉を釉薬として焼く「松代焼」は松代を代表する伝統的な工芸品です。

Matsushiro ware, fired using the hot spring waters that flow through Matsushiro as a natural glaze, is a traditional craft that represents the region.

セガ材・有閑材｜Sega Timber / Reclaimed Timber

計画敷地の近所にあり、改修予定だった家の図面を保管していた木材屋さん。

そこでは一度建材として用いられた有閑材や、丸太を製材する際に出た「セガ材」と呼ばれる端材が格安で販売していました。

Located near the project site was a lumber yard that had preserved the original drawings of a house once scheduled for renovation.

At this yard, reclaimed timber that had previously been used as building material, as well as end pieces known as “sega timber”—offcuts produced during the processing of round logs, were sold at low cost.

麦・稲｜Wheat / Rice

施主家族が庭で毎年麦と稲を育てており、藁や籾殻を断熱材や仕上げなどに利用できないか考えました。

The client’s family grows wheat and rice in the garden every year, leading us to consider whether the straw and chaff could be utilized as insulation material or as part of the finishing layers.

サンプルづくり

柴石や、松代焼、セガ材、籾殻など、地域の素材をデザインに組み込めないか、サンプルとして実際に作成しました。
