風船の展覧会｜Balloon Exhibition

芸術劇場のロビーで行われる、即日の展覧会の会場構成のプロジェクトです。
池袋や劇場のフィールドワークから、双方に存在する「小道具」といキーワードが浮かび上がりました。コミュニケーションをとったり、あるいは距離をとったり、何かを演じたりしながら関係性を調整するためには、言葉やツールによる工夫が必要です。
この気づきから、即日の展覧会を行わせてもらえることになりました。

紙を折ってふくらませた帽子を、互い違いに組んだ木の棒にそっとかぶせることでできる展示台の群れをつくりました。2パターンの帽子と、3パターンの脚の組み合わせを変えています。少しずつ似ていて違うような、生き物のような風船の展示台に、そっと小道具たちが乗ります。
池袋の地下鉄から直結するロビーであり、演劇の開演時間によっては大変に混雑するため、展示台を点在させて、ルートを自由に選べる

A spatial composition for a one-day exhibition held in the lobby of an art theater. Through fieldwork in Ikebukuro and within the theater itself, the shared keyword of “tool” emerged. In order to communicate, to take distance, or to perform something while adjusting relationships, ingenuity through language and tools becomes necessary. From this realization, we were given the opportunity to hold a one-day exhibition.

We created a group of display stands by gently placing paper hats, folded and inflated, onto alternately assembled wooden rods. Two patterns of hats were combined with three patterns of legs. Slightly similar yet different, the balloon-like display stands resemble living creatures, upon which small tools are quietly placed.

Because the lobby is directly connected to the Ikebukuro subway station and can become extremely crowded depending on theater performance times, the display stands are dispersed, allowing visitors to freely choose their routes.
