新垂水図書館｜Shintarumi Library

兵庫県神戸市垂水、海と山のあいだの駅前に建つ図書館の計画です。駅前広場から連続し、1Fはロータリー、2.3Fに図書館をはさんで、屋上広場へとつながっていきます。

色とりどりのキャラクターの周辺環境と、本とのさまざまな過ごし方を選べるように、裏をつくらない多正面の建築であることと、広場が積層するように居場所が折り重なっていくことの掛け合わせを大切に、設計を進めています。

※フジワラテッペイアーキテクツラボ・タトアーキテクツと3社JVでの共同設計 / 2025年完成予定。

This project is a library planned for Tarumi in Kobe City, Hyōgo Prefecture, standing at the station front between the sea and the mountains. Extending seamlessly from the station plaza, the building integrates a station traffic loop on the first floor, places the library on the second and third floors, and connects upward to a rooftop plaza.

To respond to the colorful variety of surrounding environments and the many ways people might spend time with books, the design emphasizes two ideas: creating an architecture with no single “back,” allowing the building to face multiple directions; and stacking plazas vertically so that various places to spend time gently overlap one another.

※The project is being jointly designed by a three-company JV with Teppei Architects Lab and Tato Architects, and is scheduled for completion in 2025.
